Welcome to Kedai Makanan Hamzah, a hidden gem nestled in the picturesque landscape of Bukit Fraser, Pahang, Malaysia. This charming restaurant, located at No 1&2, Jalan Genting, is a must-visit for locals and tourists alike, offering a delightful menu that perfectly balances flavor and affordability.
Kedai Makanan Hamzah is particularly renowned for its breakfast offerings, including the ever-popular roti canai, which is made fresh each morning starting at 6:30 AM. Be warned, though—the roti canai tends to sell out quickly, making it a hot commodity among regulars. Coupled with a steaming cup of teh tarik, the breakfast experience here is simply unforgettable. Imagine savoring these delectable dishes while soaking in the breathtaking views of Fraser's Hill—it’s an experience that stirs the soul.
What sets this restaurant apart is its commitment to providing delicious food without overwhelming spices. As Liz Foong aptly pointed out in her review, the dishes at Kedai Makanan Hamzah are flavor-rich yet not overly spicy, catering to a broad range of palates. The nasi kampur dishes are also a highlight, showcasing a delightful array of ingredients that sell out fast, often rounding off lunch service by noon. The prices are undeniably reasonable—where else can you indulge in two nasi campur dishes and two hot drinks for just RM25?
The atmosphere here is inviting and warm, thanks in large part to the elderly couple who run the establishment. Their hospitality shines through, creating a cozy environment where community ties flourish. As F SK mentions, the warmth of the owners lends an added charm to the dining experience, making you feel right at home. The restaurant's proximity to the local mosque also provides convenience for Muslim patrons, allowing for a seamless blend of dining and prayer.
Kedai Makanan Hamzah truly embodies the spirit of local cuisine in Malaysia, offering delicious dishes like nasi dagang and nasi lemak at unbeatable prices. The crispy roti canai is not just a meal; it's a moment to savor. Whether you are a food enthusiast or a casual diner, this spot promises not only quality food but also a memorable sensory experience amidst stunning scenery. For anyone venturing to Bukit Fraser, make it a point to visit Kedai Makanan Hamzah—a place where great taste meets affordability!

We had breakfast here. Food was served quickly after ordering. The serving size is very worth it for the price. The nasi lemak was fragrant and delicious while roti canai was good. The food price is very reasonable and this is the best place for an economical meal in Fraser's Hill.

The earliest restaurant opened during my visit. Which is around 7 a.m. 1. The roti canai is delicious yet I need to question whether it is a frozen roti canai or a home made one. 2. The price I paid is around RM 16 for 2 glass of teh tarik, 2 pieces roti canai and a plate of Nasi Lemak. Quite affordable considering the location and taste. 3. Located behind the masjid. 4. Wonderful view while having your breakfast. 5. No QR payment provided. But we insist to pay by online transfer to the owner.

First i want to say im shocked about the bill. For 3 items i have, they charged me less than 10 ringgit! And, the roti canai is so crispy. I am satisfied with nasi dagang even its cold but what can you do, its fraser hill the hospitality of owner is so warm. Please dont complain too much when you come here, they tried their best to make living. Dont compare this outlet to those in KL or somewhere. The elderly couple owns this outlet so please be kind and understanding. I enjoy the foods, the view is nice and best part is it situated behind masjid so easy for muslim to pray. Try roti kosong, nasi dagang or nasi lemak. And enjoy your day in relaxation

One of the few places open early for breakfast in Fraser's Hill. Had tasty malay style roti canai and Nasi Lemak. Quite reasonably priced food too. Good view of the surrounding gardens from above.
